Noticing

The air feels alive tonight.

/152 - Green and Submarine

Dreary day, but it was warm and full of life. The constant calls of birds and other small animals filled the air.

/150 - The Ides of Arps

Spring seems to be here, finally. Lots of rain, but getting steadily warmer and greener. Hopefully the nicer weather makes our isolation more bearable and not the opposite.

Morning s80 sounds featuring multiple lfos and arps crossing and jumping and weaving. Sometimes you just have to hold the keys down longer than you think you should and let it play. Straight out of the s80 into the h4n.

/132 - Ping Pong

It snowed hard all morning and the ground was completely covered. 45 minutes later spring returned and all was blues skies and sunshine. It was still very windy but Emi and I still took a nice walk. We were also delighted to find that the wind had freed her kite from the tree we crashed it into a week-ish ago.

In other events, I am officially out of work. Most of our clients (very understandably) put all projects on hold and after wrapping things up there’s nothing left to do for a lot of us. I know that the work will come back, but like everything else these days there’s no sure idea of when. We have our health and some savings so I can’t and won’t complain. My thoughts go out to those who are experiencing otherwise.

/121 - Kites

We had a pretty lazy Sunday puttering around the house. It was really warm this afternoon so we took the kites out to the soccer field next to our house. There was a thunderstorm coming and the wind was pretty incredible — so much so that our fish kite got blown into a tree. Right around then we started seeing lightning so we had to leave it. Hopefully I’ll be able to get it down tomorrow.

Had a nice dinner and got Emi to bed. Then spent the rest of the night dealing with a leaky tub. The joys of home ownership.

/106 - A Walk

Overcast and cold here today, but knowing that we’re supposed to stay inside as much as possible makes it hard not to feel confined. We took a walk around the neighborhood and everything seemed normal — lots of cars on the roads and people out walking around. They must have felt like we do. Signs of spring are starting to pop up everywhere. Hopefully it gets warm again soon.
