More and more clients are seeking modular design solutions in order to allow their physical space to easily react to changes in business and work modes.  Those solutions, while not usually difficult to design, can be difficult to explain in terms of how these changes can occur, and how each mode lends itself to small variations in program needs.  I have developed this graphical "kit-of-parts" diagramming style that can be as generic or specific as needed to help the clients understand:

Once client program requirements are identified, it's quick work to plug in components into this framework and generate new diagrams.  This tool allows us to share a lot of information in a way that informs without being overwhelming and has met with repeated success.
